Relevant legal and/or ethical issues

The guidelines we followed are the OFCOM guidelines

Ethical
The ethical issues that we could face would be that everyone currently in the group is a white male, as well as the celebrities that are going to be interviewed. We haven’t covered all ethnicities and only covered the male gender therefore this could be an issue for some people.

Discrimination
The radio show is family friendly and appropriate for young children as there will be no cussing and discrimination. We will have to gain permission from the artists to play their songs during our radio.

Religious
To ensure that our programme does not disrespect any religion or belief, we will have no reference to any religious subjects.

Copyright & Privacy
We do not have any advertising in our radio show edit. BBC does not use any adverts in their radio shows, this helps avoid any copyright for our edit.

Protecting the Under-eighteens
Because this is BBC radio we will not have any content that is unsuitable for younger listeners. Also when taking in a caller we will make s
ure that they are at least 18 for them to be able to participate in a
competition/quiz.

BUDGET

Our budget is currently £20 although if this was a professional production it would cost us around £3,000 for a fully compliant EAS. And around another £1,000 for all of the equipment needed, totalling at around £4,000.

D1
Justify ideas in relation to current trends in UK:
Our breakfast music show will follow/discuss the current trends in the music & celebrity media. We will make sure to play music that is in the current top 40 chart at the moment, for example 'Shape of you' by Ed Sheeran and 'Symphony' by Clean Bandit ft. Zara Larsson are in the top 5 on the charts.

When getting celebrities on the show for an interview, we will make sure to bring celebs that are trending at the time, for example, a famous music artist is releasing a new album that is sure to top the music charts; this way more listeners will like to tune in to listen to a live interview. Although we will also have other celebrities from the entertainment industry, not just the music industry, for example 'King Arthur: Legend of the Sword' is a film that is trending and is being hugely advertised, therefore we could have David Beckham come on the show for an interview about his first major movie role as an actor.

In the show we will talk about the latest celebrity gossip and news that could be important or exciting at the time, keeping the audience up to date on the entertainment industry.

We will use these current trends in our show because these are the things that appeal to our intended target audience the most. It would be pointless for us to focus on things that our intended target audience is not interested in, it would lead to us losing listeners as they would lack in interest.

P4:

A) Setting up appropriate equipment:
We set up the microphone in the room where we recorded on a mini-tripod so it would be at the correct and same height for it pick up all of our voices correctly, we also made sure that we set it up in an empty space of the room so that we could all sit around the microphone and record at the same time and distance from the microphone.
We edited the breakfast show in Adobe Audition, we wanted to make sure that it was easy for us to add effects to certain parts, such as with the jingles and news segments, where we needed to make Kacper's voice sound deeper by altering it.

B) Following running order and content plan:
We followed the running order completely, we started with a song and ended with an interview with the artist of that song. We did this because it allowed us to get through all the work easily and keep our consistency throughout the show as well as getting viewers guessing who our celebrity guest will be, which was Ed Sheeran. We used the running order, content plan and script to record the audio in the correct order, this was helpful when it came to editing as we were able to take the audio already in order rather than having to re arrange the files.

Our Radio show stuck to the content plan well. We did all of the things that we planned to do. We were required to make the show at least 5 minutes long and our show surpasses that.

C) Following safe working practices:
We followed safe working practices by making sure that our posture was correct, in order to prevent RSI, this included using wrist rests while we were typing, as well as making sure that we were a optimal distance from the computer monitor and did not have to lean in order to see better. We also made sure to take regular screen breaks(at least once every hour) in order to avoid eye strain. We made sure there were no hazards for any of the crew to be hurt or equipment to be damaged, the bags for the equipment were put aside so they didn’t get in the way of recording and risk any injury.

D) Following Production Processes:
Within this project we tried to follow our production schedule as much as possible, and I believe we followed our production process well, although we did make some changes along the way such as recording a day later than planned because voice actors could not arrive to location. Although this hasn't stopped us form following the plan and finalizing it, completing the final edit meeting the deadline.

Review - Test Recordings
When we had the script finished and were ready to record dialogue, we went to our location and recorded some tests first. We decided to change the script slightly by making it sound more relaxed and natural, as it came across as really stiff when read aloud..
